Storage for pool cleaner and control box

I purchased a Dolphin Sigma robotic pool cleaner a couple of months ago. His name is Ziggy, I like him, and I think he does a pretty good job. One thing I'm curious about: the control box is water resistant, but not water proof (i.e., you should not leave it out in the rain.) The phone app allows you to program cleans on set days and times, but that makes no sense if I have to pull Ziggy out of the pool and store him away after each use so his controller doesn't get rained on. I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a solution for some type of shed or other storage area that allows you to run the cord out of it and into the pool, such that the control box would run from inside the shed and the robot itself could be stored there when not in the pool. Ideas?

Also, I'm wondering if it's bad for the unit to shock the pool with the robot still in the water. (I'm not doing this, but wondering if it's okay.)

Thanks.

I have mine in a dolphin caddy with a cover.
Maytronics says:
For optimum operation of the robot, the water temperature, pH, chlorine and salinity must comply with the following, as indicated in the warranty statement you received with your robot:

Temperature: 43F - 95F (6C - 35C)
pH: 7.0 - 7.8
Chlorine: Under 4 P.P.M.
Salt (NaCl): Maximum 5,000 P.P.M.
