Pentair microbrite to globrite niche adapter

So it looks like #1 (replace globrite with microbrite and adapter) is my only option... aside from taking a 200 lumen hit in brightness, am I just swapping one problem for another or are the microbrites actually more reliable and may be I will get more than 2 years before they fail????

The Microbrites seem to last longer then the GloBrites but folks have had Microbrites fail in a few years also.

None of the color LED pool lights from Jandy, Pentair, or Haywood have very good reliability. And when they fail they are expensive to replace. Which is why I still have the basic white incandescent lights in my pool. I don;t run them enough to care about the electrical usage. And when a buld bunrs out it is an inexpensive repair. To me the wow of having a pool light up with colors at night is not worth the costs of the LED lights. YMMV.

That's the only option if you want the color schemes to match your automation.

My lights are on every night. They've been on every night since my PB programmed my Intellicenter. I love the ambiance that it provides, seeing them. I get that some people don't care about it. I know they are not the most reliable but I am hoping that the 3 lights I have provide enough light once I switch over to the microbrites after the Globrites go out of warranty.

I just noticed that Sunseeker has a small face nicheless light as well as the large face.

I'm thinking about replacing all 3 of my lights with sunseekers. A big face one in the deep end of the pool for the extra light, and then small face ones in the spa and step. I'm assuming the small face one has less brightness than the larger face one. I have a question out to their Support. I think I'll want to ask to make sure the colors are matching between large and small face as well.

I have a pentair intellicenter and I'm fine with ditching the built in light automation. I use poolcontroller and hubitat to automate things and use voice recognition to control the pool. I feel like I should be able to work out using automation to translate the light modes of Sunseeker away from pentair. Wish there was someone making a light that made sense. Color changing LEDs are so standard in the home, but Pool companies like Pentair are riding out their captive audiences rather than get something that would be easy to control from anything/anywhere like the rest of technology.

Hi any further info on this? 2 of my 4 globrites just failed (at exactly 2 yrs) and I'm thinking of the adapter+microbrite alternative. Want to keep the automation working. I'll be replacing them myself.

Seems like there are many folks on this thread that can help me answer my question.

4 of my 7 Globrites are out and just ordered the small face Sunseekers. The description on the website says it comes with the globrite adapter but looking at the lights they don’t appear to have the adapters on there. The face lens appears to be threaded on there and glued and there’s two notches on the lens so I’m wondering if that’s the locking mechanism for the Globrite niche.

Also, have anyone of you siliconed these lights much like many have done with the Globrites when replacing?
Thanks!

Following this thread too. I like most of you, have hit the point where most of my Globrite's have failed (pool built in 2018). I'm weighing up going with the Microbrite-Gs, or the Florida Sunseeker (@Comeby I think you need this adaptor to use in your Globrite niches - but yours should have come with that, according to the description on the site)

I have 8 Globrites, 7 have failed(!). 2 are relatively inaccessible in the spa runoff, I had to fight to get the first one out from inside the spa, so I'm just going to ignore those (They're dead anyway). So if I disconnect the 2 duds that will remain, and replace the rest with the Sunseeker option, am I correct in assuming I can still use the same Pentair transformer?

I know I can't control the light colors through the app, don't care though, once they're set, they mostly don't change.

sorry for the delay. Was on spring break. I have 4 sunseeker in my possession and getting ready to install below are some pics I took: failed globrite, globrite vs sunseeker for size comparison, although not necessary I marine sealed the sunseekers where water could get in.

Right now I’ve tested them to make sure they work, to ensure they are color etc before installing. I can already see an issue and that’s making the colors match. I still have a few Globrites installed that work. I don’t know the cycle color order for the globrites but it’s looking like they won’t be the same color until I go to all sunseekers….unless I cycle power on the sunseekers individual at the control panel.

Here’s a pic of the ‘adapter’. Just rubber fin sleeve to help hold it in the niche. I just replaced 2, 2 to go. Getting the old and new lights synced will be a challenge.

I'm curious how bright the "small face" Sunseeker units are.
Looking to replace my Globrites- however our current setup only has 3 in our pool. My concern with the 6" stainless lens Sunseeker is that they may not be perfectly flush against our flat/vinyl wall.
Having young children etc, I wouldn't want anything pulling them out.
