Have an H400FDN for a month now and the control board failed. What is the best way to file a Warranty claim? Do I have to go through a local pool repair tech or can a pool owner file? Would rather not spend any money for stuff I can do myself.

Had a landscape contractor remodel the pool including travertine deck, new liner, and new pool equip. Would rather not deal with them anymore since everything has been turned over to me, the owner. It would be much faster if I handle this myself.
Just checking if there were any known Hayward policies that would prevent a pool owner from filing a warranty claim even though I did not install it or purchase it directly. I do think all warranty rights have been passed to me, the owner of the equip.

thanks.

In the past I know that Hayward would allow the pool owner to initiate a warranty. Can't hurt to try.
