Can you repair by gluing a broken pump housing?

I just ordered a Hayward Tristar XE 1.85 THP pool pump which arrived tonight with a broken base. This pump was very difficult to find and I would like to know if gluing this back together will hold. If so what type of glue would you use? I want a Tristar pump because it would be a simple install with no rework to the fittings. Thanks for the help

I can't place exactly what your pic is showing is broken.

Is this just the base that the pump sits on?

How does the pump sit without anything being glued on?

Maybe @1poolman1 has a better idea what you are showing.

The piece in my hand is the piece that is broken off. It mates to the piece that it is next to. There is no base from the old TriStar, I think that the company knew they shipped me a broken base because the riser [seen in second pic] they sent should not have been included with the pump. Hayward's manual shows it was optional and it is used to mate it with a previous Pentair pump installation.

There is a slot behind the oval shape that a prong (prongs?) in the other part should mate with. They often come loose from each other, not glued in any way. The damage makes it look like there was another part to the base. I've only seen 1 of those new pumps and not installed any, yet. Best guess, from 3000+ miles was that pump was dropped, though I have seen damage right from the factory that didn't affect the operation of the pump. If the mating prong or prongs aren't there (broken?) I would request another pump.
I went to look at mine, but I installed it on that secondary base (I like the added height) so couldn't see it completely (EcoStar, TriStar, virtually the same pump housing).
