Good morning fellow TFP members!
I had to SLAM my pool to get it open for the summer. All numbers are in line. I haven’t lost any FC in 6 days despite all the rain and wind and CC’s have been at 0.
My issue is the algae stained the sides of my pool! I’ve kept it SLAM status for 3 weeks with no changes to the algae stains no matter how much I scrubbed and vacuumed! Nothing is coming off. How do I remedy this and still get to enjoy my pool with the kids?

Its probably some other kind of stain, either copper or iron. Are you on well water or municipal? Have you used Algaecides before TFP method? You can take a water sample to poolstore to test for metal(and only Metal). Can you upload some pictures?

I’m on Municipal water. No Algaecides been used in my pool since I’ve owned it. Last year was my first year and I didn’t have stains. I started the TFP way right out the gate of owning a pool. 433712D5-48FA-45A9-A542-E9EC61E318DB.jpeg433712D5-48FA-45A9-A542-E9EC61E318DB.jpeg433712D5-48FA-45A9-A542-E9EC61E318DB.jpegD094485C-CE36-4E60-86F3-9014A9B7834A.jpeg

How old is the Pool? Gunite can erode after several years and the concrete starts to show with a grayish color.
Not sure! It was repainted in 2018. This doesn’t look like erosion. It looks like algae in color but nothing changes! I brush and brush and have been brushing 3 weeks straight, my robot has been brushing and cleaning non stop all day for 2 weeks and no changes in appearance.

Your Test results are good. FC slightly high probably because of the slam. Today in age the paints are ECO friendly and wont last long. I would be very surprised if it was algae. We dont recommend painting pool because of this same reason. There is nothing wrong leaving it like this, just aesthetics. You might consider a replaster in your future.

Do you have any chlorine pucks? You can hold one against the stain and scrub with that to see if it lifts. That would confirm if it's organic or not.

Took water sample to pool store! This is what the results are from them. Matches my TF-100 kit that I do myself besides the CH.
