Well, I've ordered a new filter Wednesday and it makes me crazy thinking how I paid $249 for it exactly 4 years ago and now I found the same one at a bargain at $419. I know it's like that everywhere, I work in supply chain planning so I deal with it 5 days a week but, (insert 1 four letter F word that TFP censors here). I called a few places and reached out to online stores and just the body part is sold out. When it is not sold out it is $226.
Cornelius the pool is very lucky that I am not in my KonMari phase right now, because he is NOT sparking joy.
On an FYI note. My current filter is a Hayward EC40AC. I bought it online from Amazon. After a couple hours of searching on the internet and trying to figure why the F an EC40AC was now almost $700, it seems the EC40AC can now only be sold by pool professionals and if you are buying something from an online store, you now buy W3EC40AC. It's the Expert Line vs Open, and I think it's the same exact product, with the exception of a 3 year vs 1 year warranty. From what I can guess, it's how the pool stores can justify a higher than online price.
