Instapark Betta review

My Aquabot always stopped about an hour after dark. Betta2 still moving!

Wow, still moving at 7am!

It’s not a question of can it run all night. It’s a question of how many cloudy days and nights can it run? Haven’t figured that one out yet, been sunny here the last few weeks. Also the other question is how long can this one last before breaking down?

Still going at about 24 hours. Been cloudy most of the day, but sun has peaked out now and then. Shade from 5 oaks after 2, from house before noon. I'd be happy with it running 8 hours, but 24 use amazing!

Ok, all you Betta users are making me jealous with my Ariel that dies about 2 hours after the sun goes down. You might have me at the point where I am going to buy one.
Well, mine has red lights this morning, no clue when it died. It's really cloudy, so if it actually starts moving I'll be surprised. If it can charge with clouds, I'll let you know.

24 hours, not much picked up (but not much in pool, and got everything)! It does appear to charge out of the pool. Still cloudy, but it's running. Going to leave it in my "sunny spot" until the sun comes out.

I would think that it should be the same as the old one. It will charge up a bit, but don’t expect it to run all night after a cloudy day if it didn’t get a full charge after running the battery down. The old one could run a few days and nights without much sun coming from a full charge.

The last few days have been super sunny and the sun’s angle was perfect for all day charge. Betta chugged for 48 hours. It helped that the debris load was much lower. I think when it gets loaded the extra weight must also drain the battery. I also figured out how to remove the catkins wound around the paddle shaft that I couldn’t pick out with my fingers. A plastic fork is the perfect tool. Won’t scratch, can get into the teeny space and the fork inventory seems to be infinite in my kitchen drawer!

You'll love it. After a few weeks, even with 50%+ shade, it's like one of those bunnies! Even when mine goes red (4-5 hours after dusk), it keeps turning itself on every few minutes searching for sun. Lights go back to green even in non-direct light (about 10am in my case). If you have full sun, I'm sure it would fit 24 hours. Basket is soooo much better than my old Solar Breeze.

So I'm posting a follow up from a few weeks of usage.
TL;DR
It's great and would 100% recommend.

So as I mentioned I had a NX and NX2 but didn't spring for the Ariel based mostly on the reviews of battery on TFP. Decided to take a chance on the BettaBot . It has been excellent! I'm not going to do a full write up but I'll give you my PRO/CON in bullet form.

  • Battery life. This will run all day AND all night.
  • Basket. Wow! I never realized how much I hated the old basket in the NX. Open the lid with a simple clip pull the basket out.
  • Basket part 2. The little paddle wheel at the front of the basket that keeps stuff IN THE BASKET when it goes backwards... Makes me think the engineer uses the product.
  • Rock stone coping. It's NEVER been stuck, enough said.
  • Remote Control. Seems like a gimmick.. use it at least once a week to make sure the grotto gets cleaned. Well played Betta!
  • Cleanliness (it's next to godliness the saying goes...) This thing is making my water holy!
That's it... Now back to my project of weighing down the cord on the M600 Dolphin so they can coexist.

It does work great, I think it’s a very well thought out design the first generation worked great. The only knock with the first generation ones was that they failed pretty quickly and consistently. It remains to be seen if that was production problem or a design problem. Time will tell, but with how great they are with their warranty and now that they offer a 3 year warranty, it’s not much of an issue if it breaks down a few times a season.

Has anyone else run into a problem placing an order on the bettabot website?

I entered cc info and submitted the order. I immediately got a message that the credit card had been declined, and at the same time I got a message from the bank that they had declined it. I had just placed some other orders on the card without a problem so I checked its status and everything looked fine. This charge wasn't there. I just used a different card and the order went through.

I called the bank and asked why they had declined it. They told me it looked like suspicious activity. A few hours latter the card that I wound up using contacted me to make sure this purchase was legitimate. They were also flagging it as suspicious.

I hope the website hasn't been hacked or worse.

That's typically a good thing. My bank does that for any high dollar purchase out of state that I've never bought from. You also may have a purchase limit set that requires approval.

Negative on both items. I had just placed an order from an out of state company that I had never dealt with before for more than the price of the betta bot without a problem. I checked the card and everything should have gone through with regard to limits.

About a week ago I did an online chat with them to find out their shipping procedures. In the middle of that chat I got a chat message with sexual content that had nothing to do with my questions. It was as if their system had been hacked.

Now that is strange! I just know it happens to me once or twice a year with Chase.
It just got weirder. I went to use the first card for something else and it didn't go through. I called the bank again and they had actually blocked the card due to the attempted purchase at bettabot.

I didn’t have any problems. I used my credit card over the phone to pay for the upgrade charge to the new beta and I used it on their website for the 3 year warranty. Sounds like their chat client got hacked or something and your banks just being super weird. My experience with banks is that they will on occasion randomly flag purchases out of the blue. I’ve used mine before while traveling out of the country or to the west coast without notifying them that I would be traveling and used it without issue. On the flip side I’ve also had them flag the card and not run it due to “suspicious activity” at the grocery store down the street where I always shop…

Must of got a defective one, right of the box it will only drive on circles.
They sent me one once with two right propellers, and it just drove in circles. They sent me the correct propellor and I swapped it myself. I chalked it up to someone having a bad day at the factory. Check the propellors, they are labeled with an L and and R.
