Aluminum Pipe for brass anchor install - pavers over concrete

I'm looking to source my own pipe to install brass anchors into existing pavers (2" thick) over concrete (dont know how thick)

I'm assuming I want 3/4" i.d. pipe and 1" o.d., and prep with a 1" core bit, not using hammer drill

How deep should the pipe go?
What grade of aluminum do I want?
Is the aluminum pipe set in anything, or just hammered down with a wood on top?

Not yet. A few brick were removed against the coping, would a measurement of the thickness at that location be the same? Should I remove some bricks at 2' from the coping and drill a test hole?

The pavers are 2". How long should the pipes be?

We've found a metal supply company but they've got over a dozen grades of aluminum.

Pavers require a rod that extends far enough to insure the stress of the cover doesn’t move the pavers. When drilling holes you should do it in corners versus the center To avoid splitting them. I would use 9” rods that hold the brass anchors and definitely use a powerful hammer drill with diamond big or be prepared to spend a ton of time per hole.

When you say "rods" do you mean the aluminum pipe?

We are going to rent a core drill, or a hammer drill that can have the hammer function turned off. Have read that for small pavers, which we have, to do it on joints.

Yes, 18” is standard on pavers but as you said these are over existing concrete then 9” will suffice.
