Newb here. 20000 gallon inground vinyl liner
Pool slightly cloudy and TC and FC out of balance.
FC is 6
TC is 9
Ph is 7.4
TA is 125
CYA is 65

Have had chlorine tab feeder off for 3 days.

What do I need to do as first step?

Thanks; have to be out of town for a week; have no one to help so I didn’t know which would be better, the multi jug SLAM for a few days or turn the feeder back on, or leave it off and see what happens. Pump runs 9 hours/day.

Turning the feeder back on will make it worse. You can safely add a gallon each day until you leave and then turn the feeder on right before you leave. Then turn it off when you get back.

The pool stores are notoriously bad at testing, especially for CYA. You can get a cheap test kit while you wait or see if Amazon has. Taylor K2006C they can get you quickly.

The TFP pool care is about knowing what your pool water chemistry needs and only adding that. To do that you need one of the recommended test kit, either the TF-100 from tftestkits.net or the Taylor K-2006C from Amazon.

To add 5 ppm chlorine a day before you get your test kit would be to add 1 gallon of 10% liquid chlorine. After you get your kit, post up a full set of results and the experts can help from that point.

Does it make sense to add bleach at night so sun doesn’t affect it? What about the idea of adding 5 gallons of bleach each day for 2-3 days?
A vinyl liner pool can have issues with bleaching the liner at overly high chlorine levels. I’m not sure I’d do that. 1 gallon would be a safer bet assuming your pool size is close to the 20k you have listed.

OK, so came home to a green, cloudy pool.Ph at 7.5,TA at 110, FC at 7.5, CYA at 60.What does it mean on the pool calculator when it says the SLAM level is outside of recommended range? For example it says to add 4+ gallons of bleach for a SLAM level of 28. Does the warning apply to normal target level of 10 not the slam level?
