Have been prepping the pool for the arrival of the grandkids tonight. I was just about there, only to wake up this morning to 2 drake and 1 hen Mallard in the pool. I have pigeon proofed the pool, but haven't figured out how to keep ducks out of the pool in the spring. Of course, they have all shat in the pool. I guess it is SLAM time. My main planned community saw fit to have a park with lagoons about a mile away which attracts both ducks and geese who seem to Crud all over the park lawns ( great panning idea!) Maybe I could stretch a net over the pool in the spring before I start to use it to keep the ducks out?

Hang a sign




Don't forget that SLAM is safe for swimmers and equipment, as long as you can see the bottom for swimmer rescue if need be. Slam anytime you feel the need. It won't chew the FC up like exponentially growing algae and will be more of a one and done dose.

Our neighborhood lake has ducks that frequent some pools, but not mine. Get a Chihuahua!!!

If put a big blowup of swan, duck or some type of animal with big eyes and it will keep ducks and birds away from your pool. Plus it help keep them from poohing around your pool too.

These folks come about June every year and seem to want to congregate here for about 1 week. This will be my first year with pool below them, so might need a few of those angry bird floats!!!

My cousins use 4 or 5 colored soccer balls floating around in the pool and that keeps the ducks away. At least, they haven't had ducks since they put the soccer balls in, so it would seem the soccer balls are what did the trick. But can't rule out it wasn't a neighbor with a Mossberg, as Matt recommended.
