Coffee creamers have officially jumped the shark

The Sweet Cream flavor has been around for YEARS
We've had sweet cream forever. And it's delish. But Cold Stone Ice cream Sweet cream is pretty new here.

I never quite liked French vanilla and always wished it tasted like Bryers Vanilla. Close enough. :ROFLMAO:

Actually now that you mention it, I don't know that it was Cold Stone branded or not...so it very well could be new! I do like the French Vanilla flavor but I think the Coffee Mate version is a little tastier than the International Delights. I also am a pretty big fan of the Peppermint Mocha they put out in the fall. But, for the most part...I just use milk. I can drink 5 cups in a day without trying very hard, so the "sugar water additives" aren't used on a daily basis.

These new posts caused me to read this whole thread...hilarious! Alas, I'm just a black coffee kinda guy, so when I go to Starbucks (because my wife drags me there) I just say "I want coffee....just coffee...whatever you call that".

As far as creamers go, the wife likes Hazelnut mainly, except in the fall when she must have the ubiquitous Pumpkin Spice.

I once went to a Dutch Brothers drive through because they had just opened up in Tucson and everyone was raving about it. I asked the gal for a medium ice coffee with cream (I only drink regular coffee with cream). She repeated it back to me “you want JUST iced coffee and cream in a cup?” and she had a unusually puzzled look on her face. She then struggled to find the appropriate buttons to tap on her ordering screen, called over the manager and then they both figured it out … it was longest I’d ever had to wait for a cup of coffee … apparently Dutch Brothers only knows how to make cups of sugar syrup and whipped cream with a little bit of coffee sprinkled on top 😂

Starbucks is no better. I will get their Mocha frap when the female family members drag me there. But I want a splash of milk on top and it has short circuited employees in 5 states.

'But sir, it's made with milk'

*Yes, just spash some jug milk on top*

'OK we will make it kid temp'

*I don't want it kid temp, I want a splash of milk on top. Make the drink, and splash the milk. Just like that*

'But it's made from milk'

:brickwall::brickwall::brickwall:

It's too sweet, too bitter and exactly *3* degrees too hot. A splash of milk solves all 3.

I find just adding milk to make coffee sweet enough. My wife likes hazelnut, so we buy hazelnut coffee, to which I add milk - unsweetened hazelnut coffee.

If I am going to be sitting down and drinking coffee leisurely, then I drink it black. No idea why, but I do. I refer to coffee with milk as "walking around coffee" I used to call it "road coffee" but then I started working from home.

There’s generally just enough sugars in milk (whole or 1/2&1/2) to take the bitter edge off of coffee. Of course, if you roast your own coffee, grind it according to the method of brewing, weigh all the ingredients properly (not volume measurements but actual weight) and brew it at the proper temperature and flow rate for optimal extraction, then a freshly brewed coffee tastes incredible with hardly any need to adulterate it with flavors. But, since most people make coffee the wrong way, there’s a need to adjust the flavor.

Personally speaking, if I’m going to sit and sip a hot liquid with no additions, I much prefer a cup of freshly brewed black or oolong tea to coffee. The caffeine levels are about the same but I find the tea has a much more soothing flavor.

I need a week of trying and that's my new kind. I was on straight milk forever when the Mrs came home with almond joy creamer and I've been back on the sweet sauce (currently ice cream flavored) since.

Just caught up on this thread-
I must admit, i am a die hard full sugar & vanilla creamer fan but it’s not practical if I want to be able to move my fingers & toes so I have come up with a work around. Vanilla Premier protein as creamer & a little stevia so I can still get my caffeine fix & hit my protein goals. I would rather go without than drink black coffee but then I wouldn’t be so pleasant 🤣

My wife using something called "Nutpods" ... Keto/Paleo/Whole30/blah/blah/blah approved. They come in unsweetened and sweetened varieties. The wife is currently on a zero sweetener (real or fake) mediterranean style "eating lifestyle" (aka, diet ... but that word is now verboten). She really likes those Nutpods because it adds the right kinds of fats and flavors she likes without any added sugars. She has to have her 20oz of Starbucks blonde roast ice coffee in the morning or else we all suffer the rage ....

Me ... "meh, I'll stick with my usual coffee and splash of 1/2 n 1/2 ..."

Previously I ran for years on just the sugar & caffeine (aka -empty calories) until my late lunch as I am just not a daily breakfast person. But now I’m technically sorta kinda having breakfast! I definitely feel fueled now instead of just uppppp, uppppp, crash 💥

I recently stopped eating breakfast as soon as I get up (5am). I typically have to get up early to make sure everyone gets off to work and school on time. So when I stagger out into the kitchen at o'dark-early in the AM, I simply have a nice cup of breakfast tea and then go about my morning routine. Once the kids and wife are all off to school and work and I'm in my peaceful Zen-space, me and the dog have our breakfast and then go for nice long walk (2-3 miles minimum or else she's a royal PITA).

I found that if I wolfed down coffee and food (usually something not good for me like a giant bagel or some other bread product) at 5am, then I was basically eating another full breakfast at 9am (4 hours later, go figure) and then elevenses, and then lunch, and then snack time and then early dinner, and then supper and then pre-bedtime snacking .... way too much food. So cutting out that one extra meal in the morning has been killer-awesome on my general health :ROFLMAO:

Nothing like the occasional cuppa in the hot tub on a chilly evening ! Having one now ☕️ while admiring my newly hung cafe string lights 💡 😁
