Hi, I have pavers around the edge of my pool and I'd like to even out some pavers. Do I add sandbox sand under the pavers that have sunk over time to raise them? And then follow up with polymeric sand to fill around the edges to adhere the pavers to one another? Tell me I dont have to rent the heavy compressor just for a few uneven pavers. Any advice or tips? Thanks

You have any idea why the sand washed out under your pavers and they sunk?

I've done what you're suggesting on some of my pavers I've got in the back of my yard. In my case they sank again, so I pulled them up and added more sand. Compacting below it would probably be a more permanent fix, but unless there's a major issue causing the sinking, I suspect it'll work fine.
And how much sinking are you talking about? Can you attach a picture? There is paver sand, at least in my area that is different than playground sand. I would look for that.

The standard methods around here for pavers is to mix portand cement and rough concrete sand, pack about 6" of that to a level just 1/8" or so below final elevation and wet. Driveways need a deeper base. It won't become concrete, but will become very hard. Then, level pavers with layer of concrete sand on top of packed base. On all edge pieces, thick and deep regular cement bead to ground. After that, you then use the paver set mix (polymeric) and wet. That just forms a sticky, sand based, bond between the pavers that keeps movement to a minimum. Every few years, you will need to redo the paver set mix.
