Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

I go to Discount Pool Mart and it’s $20 for 4 gallons of 12.5% liquid chlorine. I haven’t bought MA from there but they have the strong stuff for about $6

Down in Texas (Houston area) where there is Pinch A Penny stores that sell bulk LC, A 2.5 gal container (10% strength) is $9.88 and after 10 refills the 11th one is free. That works out to $3.95 per gallon. Or $3.59 if you consider the free 2.5 gal after 10 fill ups.

glad I will be rolling my own soon
You have NO idea what you've been missing. I cannot overstate how wonderful it is to waltz out back, press *1* button *once* and have extra chlorine produced for tomorrow.

When my cell reached end of life, i spent a week futzing with it, just to be sure. When i mentioned to the Mrs that it was dead she demanded to know why i hadn't bought a new one yet. The feel of the water and not having a green pool once in 6.5 years convinced the Mrs/CFO that i had an unlimited budget to replace it.

Hope I did good today. Found Pure Bright bleach today at lowes for $0.67 per gallon on clearance. It is only 6% bleach but I put it into the pool math cost calculator and it came out to .$087/oz. Pool essentials 10% was 5.98/gallon so that came out to $.47/gallon. Has anyone ever used the Pure Bright stuff? I hope it can go in the pool because I got 24 gallons of it.

Looks good to me. Just check out the date code to make sure it's not old. If it is your effective price could be much higher.

Germicidal bleach has been fine in the past. It typically doesn't need the polymers (splashless) and scents that are used for laundry bleach.

I’ve had so many projects on this new to me house that I am finally getting around to the SWG, new VS pump and cartridge filter was installed when I moved in.

I was at Ace yesterday and they wanted $18.99 for 2 gallons of 10%, it was $21 for 4 gallons of 12.5% recently

So I went to the grocery store and found 10% for $9.99/2 gallons

Anyways I’m more excited about not having to buy and cart chlorine, that is the true savings for me. I paid $1350 for this RJ 45 , I figure it will pay for itself in 2-3 years here in Phoenix… the time and work saved will be priceless

HD is now $18 for 4 pack of Pool Essentials (when/if they have it). Was thinking about buying pucks, but they're up to $8 per pound! Will be looking into SWG! Pay for the equipment in 1 season at these prices!

If you have an Atwoods in your neck of the woods, they are selling it for $3.49 a gallon (April of last year it was $2.49 a gallon). My local store shows they have 114 gallons in stock and the purchase restriction they had a few months ago is gone. *It is 10%

Not sure if Pinch a Penny pool store is in Austin (they are in Houston area suburbs) They still have the best deal for fresh LC. Right now my local store is running a promotion - buy 2.5 gals and get second (2.5 gals) for 50%. So for $15 I got 5 gals of fresh LC. It is normally about $9 for 2.5 gals.

Thanks! Got me to Googling. Looks like one is "opening soon" not far from me here in Austin. Hopefully they'll carry the 2.5g.
