So, I have an 18,000 - ish gallon pool that was plastered a couple years ago. I have a salt system that seems as though its working. Unfortunately I have a "fruitless" pear tree hanging over my pool dropping a bumper crop of tiny sugary pears that sit on my pool bottom apparently feeding whatever is growing on the floor. My Polaris crapped out when I needed it most, but hey it was 2 years old, so... but thats another story.
Im not too sure about my chlorine generator, but it sure looks like its generating away (I have a see- through plastic pipe where the elctrodes sit) and I think that because of the fruit falling into the pool and contaminating it the chlroine is being quickly dissipated.
So I got some liquid chlorine and a bottle of Pooltec Algaecide and chlorine boost but it hasnt made a dent in whatever is growing.
I have been brushing regularly and have run the pump 24 hours to circulate everything but still not much of a difference.
All other parameters are normal...ph acceptable range, chlorine level good, etc. etc.
Any suggestions?
