I have an inground return line disconnected after the filter and runs maybe 100 feet back to the pool. I hooked up a shop vac and then a leaf blower to the o-ring union fitting to blow air into the pool (return line), however it didn't reach the pool.... I didn't have any issue with the shop vac last year so thought I'd try a leaf blower thinking that was stronger, still didn't work. Any ideas on how to blow it out? Kinda running out of time here lol I'm thinking maybe there is a air bubble deep in the line??

you can do it with air too try a air compressor . Try from the pump to the pool and revers too. Be carefull how mutch pressure are you apllying i do not recomend more than 6 bar.

With the PVC pipes being 1.5 inches and the air compressor tool being like 1/8 inch (a lot smaller in diameter) you still think that will have enough force without the pipes being closed off?? I guess it's worth a try...any other ideas?

Buy a cyclone blower. They are pricey but made for the job and always work. If you are long term in the house it can be worth having it.
Also make sure the filter valve is closed and air isn’t escaping through the waste port if you have one.
Being that as you say from where you blow is a straight shot to the pool there would be no reason the methods you've tried didn't work. I'd take a second look at the pipe to make sure your not confusing which pipe is which. A straight run has to have blown thru.
My gas powered leaf blower does about 3x more CFM that the electric cyclones I saw online...

yip, your doing something wrong because IF you are doing as you described you could use a bicycle hand pump. Of course you'll have to get your arms moving pretty fast lol.
