Soooo, in Feb we started this process and it is July 23rd and they are still not done. We can point the fingers at a lackluster performance from the PB and shortages. Basically most of the project has been me calling the PB once a week, threating to report their license, and other nice conversations. He was saying that there was a plaster shortage and also he wasn't finding Pentair lights. I couldn't just sit around so I started calling all the pool suppliers within a 50 mile radius, first I found the lights on Ebay, he said to buy them. Then I found a company willing to do the plaster work, he said "well, if you can get them to do it at $3500, you're lucky", little did he know, they did offer to do it at $3,500. So I told him, either you do it, or I hire someone else now. He said to hire them, but then called me and said he was going to call his supplier to check if they had it, so I told him, don't bother finding a supplier I know XYZ supplier at this address has it. He then confessed that he hasn't gotten the plaster because back in Feb it was about $25 per bag, but now is around $35 so he was waiting for the economy to fix itself. CAN YOU TELL HOW FRUSTRATING THIS HAS BEEN??????????????
Anyways, rant done, plaster has been delivered. We decided to remove the coping, we will add the pavers next year, but wanted to get the coping done. Added new steps, removed the rocks and added new tile. We're removing the old plaster because it is not fully bonded to the concrete, bunch of holes all over the place. Looks like another two weeks and we're done.
Here are a few pictures
