How do you all know how to choose a waterline tile?? We will also have a raised beam/wall that is all tile and I have just been searching through photos randomly on this site and just don't know how to choose one. Help! Please :)

I think you need to know what style you want. I knew I didn’t want a 6x6 tile because I think they are boring. I tried so hard to talk myself into them but I just couldn’t do it. I love the glass 1x2 but came to the conclusion that they wouldn’t be the best choice for the entire pool. Then I found a 2x6 porcelain tile that was the shape I liked but was a more practical material. I did use the glass around and in the spa so I could have the tile I loved but a cheaper and more practical tile for the most part. So I think you need to figure out what kind of tile you want first and you need to do that by seeing them in person. Do you have a pool tile store close by you could visit? What speaks to you? Many people don’t care and just get something plain and blue. Also, do you want it to blend in or stand out? Do you want earth tones or color? Find a pool that you love the look of and copy it or at least use it as a jumping off point.

Thank you!! We actually did go and picked one out but now I'm wondering if we should use it to line everything- spa, waterline and the raised beam (front and back)?? Does it hold up well or would stone be a better option?

What exactly did you pick out? Can you post pics? It’s easier to help with pics.

My PB just got these in the week I was finalizing our tile choice, as soon as we saw it we knew this was it. Prior to this we were going with a blue glass tile. I’m doing the whole hut tub and waterline the same. I will say it was extremely difficult until we saw this. They just started installing it today. Apparently it’s brand new so no one else will have it, I like that too.

We looked at one very like that as well. It's beautiful!
