Breaker question

If it was my own pool I probably would bite the bullet. It's my neighbor's pool which I take care of while he lives up north at this time of year. If it was a sure fire thing that it was going to work (and fit) I would recommend he buy the breaker and be done with it. I can't believe that there isn't an alternative breaker out there that is still being made.

Have you checked eBay? Here's one $70 free shipping. Circuit Breaker Siemens BF220 20 Amp 2 Pole 120/240V Bolt On GFCI BLF220 783643273993 | eBay

It says bolt on and used.

Will a bolt on model work?

I would not buy a used GFCI.

Are you sure that it is a 6 milliamp model and not a 30 milliamp model?

Do you know if it is shielded to reduce false trips?

Thats not the correct breaker.

Go to Home Depot/Lowes and get another 2p 20a GFCI Sq D Homeline. It could just be that your breaker might be going bad. All 2p GFCI breakers are hard to come by, If all they have is the 2p 30a GFCI just use that. It will be fine.

I missed the post above that said it was not the correct breaker. The Siemens breaker arrived today and it looks used plus it's bolt on. It definitely will not fit the square D panel. Leslie's who sold us and fitted the VS pump are not interested.

I'm not sure what direction to take now.

We could try and sell that pump and start experimenting with a different brand or maybe go back to a single speed.

You just need to find that breaker. I did manage to find it in stock online at homedepot and bought it. It was all sold out the next day. When it pops up as available don’t hesitate to nab it! I’m not sure if you can place it directly in the Aqua plus. If it doesn’t work with it directly I would have an electrician wire a regular breaker in it and feed it to an appropriate box that the Siemens breaker uses. I used this breaker and this box. If your equipment is outside choose the equivalent outdoor box. My electrician tried to put the breaker in an old existing Gould box I had. It fit but for some reason it kept tripping so he just wired it from a regular 60amp breaker from another existing box I have to that new box and it works fine.
