Hi everyone. I could really use some help. My filter is shutting down intermittently and giving me an error code of 0008 which is 08 - Absolute Diode Bridge temperature limit exceeded*. Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it?? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Welcome to TFP.

Your pump drive has a problem.

Drive needing service usually means expensive replacement. How old is your pump?

*17,16, 02, 08, 04, 06, 09, 0AInternal Errors: These errors can occur based on operating conditions and the UL 60730 required self-diagnostic safety software. If they do not clear after multiple restart attempts, the drive should undergo a hard power cycle. Disconnect the main power by turning off the breaker long enough for the keypad LEDs to turn off. After power is reconnected if one of these errors continues to reappear, the drive may need service.

Hi, the pump is only 4 -5 years old and is only used for 3 months out of the year.

Your pump is out of warranty but you may want to contact Pentair and see what they say or offer.

Make sure the cooling fan on the back of the pump is clear and not broken.

Make sure the cooling fins on the side of the motor are clean and not full of crud.

Is this a new pump or old?

An over heating drive is generally signs you are due for a replacement sooner than later. There are no user serviceable parts in the motor drive on that pump.

the pump is only 4-5 years old and only used 3 months a year as I shared above. It would be a real bummer if it had to be replaced already, it wasn't cheap!!

I am aware I have the same pump and live in your region. I run mine from the beginning of may to the end of October, 6 months.

I also bring the pump inside for the winter.

Your pump certainly should last longer than it seems to have but there's not much you can do to repair a faulty drive.

You can replace just the motor drive if thats what the issue is. Its not cheap.
