IntelliChlor IC60 0F Temperature Reading?

When the pump is idle, the IntelliChlor sometimes reads 0F and IntelliConnect generates messages that chlorine cannot be generated. This is odd given there is no flow and 0F seems off. Also, the heater is on and it is reading 75F which is clearly wrong. The IC60 replaces my old Jandy so the plumbing did not change which is post-heater.

The IC60 should be powered off when the pump is not running. The SWCG is not wired correctly in your Intellicenter.

@Jimrahbe can assist in getting the wiring correct. Post pictures of your Intelliconnect with the load center cover off.

The wiring is straight forward. Green and yellow in power center to green and white in Intelliconnect.

Your IC is still powered on when the pump is not running. What you showed was the J20 connection. The power lines for the IC must go through the Pump relay in the Intelliconnect.

Marty,

The OP has an IntelliConnect, not the IntelliCenter.. It works differently than every other Pentair automation system ever made.. It does not shut the power off the SWCG, it just somehow prevents it from generating chlorine..

Sagosto,

You would think that since the cell should not be allowed to generate chlorine when the pump is off, you should get that warning every time the pump is off not just some times...

We talked about this before.. I said you have to use one of the relays to turn the cell off, but you pointed out that the manual says you do not have to use a relay, that the IntelliConnect controls the chlorine production when the pump is off...

Thanks,

Jim R.

Pentair said not use the relay for the Intellichlor so I followed their guidelines. It's odd as it doesn't happen every time. The Pentair Home App is really janky though. It also reads 0F when idle. Does water drain back out of the SWG causing the odd reading? Other than that -- it works lovely.

Got it -- thank you.
