Structural issues

Hey there, I just bought a house with a Kayak Pool, it seems older so I doubt that the warranty will uphold, walls are bowing outward, but the rest of the pool structure, or surrounding walls, seems pretty stable beside one area of about 4-5 panels. The liner is also trying to bust through and walls are bowing outward. My sister in law knows about chemicals, etc, but as far as structural integrity goes, I would not know how to fix this. I know jack squat about pools, but grew up in one. I know how to swim in a pool and that’s about it. Just need opinions of the more experienced.

With repairing everything and replacing whatever equipment we need, I’m trying to see a figure for cost. I want to get a pool person to help, but wanted to come here first

I think that’s probably done for.
It needs to be drained to prevent collapse & damage to people & property.
Once drained you will at the very least have to replace the liner if the pool is repairable. Until you drain & remove the liner you won’t know what needs to be replaced & what can be repaired. It looks like a very old pool so not sure if replacement parts can be sourced.
if she really wants a pool you should also shop around for a replacement.

Thanks. I am the she and she doesn’t want to put the cost out just for summer fun, I would rather suffer the heat. We already dumped enough into the house.

I am curious as to why this even happened? I hate to drain the dang thing because we live on a cistern, so we’ll have to haul all of that water in if we can even repair it. Oh well! new home ownership, am I right?

The ground has likely shifted/ heaved over time.

Makes sense, we live on a hill, the pool is on a leveled out area, but I wonder if it was put on over full dirt, which I read you weren’t supposed to do. Our soil up here is also a clay, so it shrinks and expands dramatically. I have seen quite the workmanship in this house let me tell you, a very nonsensical handyman if you ask me.

oh awesome! I emailed them after seeing this, I have a bad feeling they built this with the house, in the 80s. Who knows maybe I’m lucky, but doubt it! Thank you for the help
