My name is Tom and I’m a first time pool owner. My family and I bought our home that had a pre installed in ground pool. The previous owner did not leave any information about it but our neighbors said it it is around 10-15 years old. It’s on the smaller side around 10k gallons with a non rectangle shape. It has a Baja ledge and I believe it is a pebbletec finish. The equipment is all original pentair and consists of single speed pumps with a dedicated booster for the spa and a heater. It has a suction side cleaner and a Hayward vacuum. The filter consists of 4 cartridges around 3 feet tall. I use 3 inch chlorine tabs in a basic floater, a copper diode floater (this has been working amazingly for me cutting back on algae). I use a home test kit to keep the levels in check. I perform all the maintenance myself and try to solve problems as they come up. It gets hot here is Corona California well above 100 in the summer months. As the pool is a bit older I’ve had to deal with some repairs and I anticipate ongoing maintenance. My next project is repairing some interior cracks in the finish and I will be looking for a good vacuum replacement soon as well.
