Hi, I noticed after about three hours of running, this puddle of water near the pool filter. It appears the inlet is dripping every five seconds or so. I’m not very familiar with pool equipment, and I have a home warranty so I thought about going through them. Is there an easy fix to this? Can I wait a week or two due to family in town? Thanks in advance C96C3718-D7B7-4A6A-A676-9FE728FB1707.jpeg

It can wait. Just keep an eye on the area that the drip does not get worse and watch your pool water level.

You were part of the TX winter freeze. You may have a small crack around the inlet or union from the freeze.

Good thought - I drained my equipment due to the power outage, maybe a small crack now just showing.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed the small drip is coming from the area where the two halves of the filter meet, and dripping onto the inlet pipe. I tightened it down to see if that fixes it.

The Pentair instructions state that the spring (on the tighten band) should be fully compressed. But do not overtighten. If you have reached that point and still leaks, you may need to drain your filter, lube the oring and then tighten all back up.

CJ,

Do you tap the band with a rubber mallet as you are tightening the nut??

Did you lube the giant O-Ring?

Thanks,

Jim R.
I noticed another small drip on the backside - I ordered a replacement o-ring. Will replace and lube Friday when it gets in. I imagine it won’t hurt anything to keep running the filter until then?
