Im wondering if anyone has experience with Major Pool Supplies?

I’m looking at upgrading my single speed pump with a two-speed for this Summer. The direct replacement for my system is like $70 cheaper shipped from there vs elsewhere — but you know what they say about things being “too good to be true”.

I can’t find much about the company- would love it if someone could share an experience.

Inyo pools might be more expensive, but they are a reputable company.

Consider getting a variable speed pump.
Yeah I’ve ordered from Inyo before and they do have the specific pump I’m looking for - but it’s a net difference of ~$70. I may still go that route, just hoping to save a bit.

As for a variable speed pump - with a relatively short swim season, I’m not sure if I could justify the cost vs energy savings (almost 2x the cost). I thought the two speed might be a good compromise. My current pump is loud and returns the water to the pool at what seems like an absurd speed.

Are there other benefits of a VSP that I’m overlooking?

Listen, You can put it on your CC and dispute it if it goes south with the unknown source, or for $70 know darn well you have the spot on customer service to help you if it goes south. You already know inyo stands behind their products and has helped many members after the fact. To me that is the best $70 I could spend.

Their website seems pretty clunky and there are a LOT of product categories they list that have no contents. Warranty and Tech Support is provided by manufacturers according to their website and the "testimonials" link takes you to a blank page. They've been in business for 13 years and have an A+ rating from BBB. One complaint that was really absurd and none in the past year. Their "About" button says they've been in all facets of pool business for 25 years. Who knows? If it were me I'd go to a reputable supplier or buy something cheap from them to see how they do for my first purchase.

I took a big chance when I purchased my V-Green VS pump from a low cost supplier. I checked their reviews and contacted them to "check them out". They responded very well and all their BBB plus online reviews were great. I did the purchase and was very pleased. They had nobody that knew anything about the pump or details like impeller matching options. I got some help on that here from @JamesW. It worked out great in that case but you need to consider if you know enough to buy the item with no help before you buy items from a store like this.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this. I did end up just ordering from Inyo. I received my shiny new 2-speed pump today.

Now I just need to wait a couple months to actually be able to use it.

Oh well, wanted to make sure I beat the summer rush. Ready to go now!!
