Hello
I am replacing a bad Hayward heater with a 400 hd unit from Pentair.

We rent our home at times and I want to be able to prevent people from touching the controls. For the hayward I installed a metal flap that locks with a padlock to cover the controls, does that exist for this unit?

If not I know can set a max temp but that doesn't prevent people from enabling the heater who haven't paid to use it. I lock them out in my jandy control but without a physical lock, I think i could be in for issues.

Is it possible to just disconnect the controller given it is being controlled by the jandy box? (the controls on the Hayward have been dead for a while and it works just fine)

Thanks in advance

Craig

Put an electrical switch on the wiring from the heater. Set it up to be able to disable power to the heater. Discuss with an electrician to ensure all codes are met.

You can set the MasterTemp controls and then disconnect the membrane keypad. As long as the heater does not glitch it should work with the Jandy Aqualink controlling it with the keypad disconnected.
