Test levels - beginner

How are you testing a CH of 210? The CH testing protocol measure in factors of 25 ppm.
Stop adding so much acid. When pH reaches 8, lower to 7.6. No lower. The higher pH will raise your CSI.
As you get rainfall you will have to ocassionally add calcium. What is the CH of your fill water?

Using same test kit to measure CH as everything else....one of the two recommended on this site. I believe the color change almost took place and next drop completed it..so CH is between 200 and 225. Stop adding so much acid? If I let it get to 8 and drop it to 7.6 I will be adding acid everyother day...not as much but a lot more frequent. What a pain.

Then your CH is 225.
The pH you reported was 7.4. The lower you take the pH, the more negative your CSI is.
I suspect your pH would sit at 7.8 or 8 for quite some time with your colder water temperature.

Thanks...I just don't like it creeping up....hard to tell what it really is once the color gets slightly darker than around 8

It is not hard to tell, you cannot tell the pH once color is above 8, so do not try to assign a number.

If color is 8 or above assume it is 8 and add enough MA to lower to 7.6. Retest pH in 30 minutes and repeat until pH is in the 7s.
