Post Resurfacing Green Tint Water

We had our pool resurfaced a couple of weeks ago. It was done in a standard marcite finish. Due to some issues, we had to fill with both well and ground water (which was surprisingly clear). The guy started up the water with Jacks Magenta and Blue stuff, some additive to my sand filter, calcium, and eventually chlorine and CYA. The water is balanced (although I was instructed to keep PH at 6.8 for now) and crystal clear. However, there is that green statue of liberty tint to it still, which from reading around the forum is probably iron or metals of some sort. I am looking for advice on getting the water back to blue as it was previously in the old pool. I've included some current pictures along with some construction pictures in case anyone notices anything weird in general. I think I may have some staining but I'm not sure what constitutes staining. The bottom couple inches of the sides look slightly discolored along with some spots on the bottom although it isn't blatantly obvious. Maybe it's normal. Appreciate any feedback and tips on the green water and what you see in the pictures. Thanks guys. The first and last pictures are the most current.

You may want to post your full set of test data to get feedback. Also, are you brushing daily to clear plaster dust through your sand filter? When was last time you cleaned your filter? Are your running your pump 24 hrs or is it on a timer for just certain times?

I have been brushing twice a day and now once a day. Majority of dust is gone. I had to backwash often at first and now down to once a day backwash. Going to have the sand replaced. The pump has been on 24-7 for three weeks solid. The water is crystal clear.

Someone thought it might be copper IDK. I'll have to have a metals test.

I would test for metals. Generally, crystal clear water that is tinted green or brown means metals.

Filling from well water and my recent experience this summer certainly lead me to believe it is metal in the water.

In my case I was able to remove the green tint in about 3 days. To do this I use 3 bottles of Metal Out at the start from Leslies.

I also bought a box of PolyFil from Walmart LINK HERE. Please note this was the input I received from TFP when I posted about green tint so credit goes to others.

I poured in the Metal Out and stuffed the skimmer basket with Polyfil and ran the pump 24/7. After the about 30 hours or so the Polyfil started to change colors which I assume was filtering out the metals. You can change out with more Polyfil as needed.

If you go with Metal Out as well make sure to backwash and rinse your filter each day.

In addition I purchased a filter to place on the hose to filter the fill water when filling from a hose LINK HERE.

Of course it may take longer or shorter to see results.

Thank you! I was especially happy you provided a link to the hose filter. I figured that was my long term answer for adding water and wasn't sure of what brand was recommended.
