How do I drain and put away our Intex Easyset AGP

How do I drain and put away our Intex Easyset AGP? I found a couple old threads, but am still not sure of what to do.

It looks like it is illegal to drain the pool into the street/storm drain. And our yard is on a slant, so draining into our yard would just flood our Nextdoor neighbor. I saw some things online about draining into our sewer line directly, but I’m not sure exactly what to do or where that line is or what I need to do before opening it :-O. I’m attaching a picture of what I think it might be. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

If we can figure out the sewer drain, I’m guessing these would be the steps...please correct me if they are wrong:

1. Take the cover off and let the chlorine go to zero. Will this make it turn green?
2. Waste the water to the yard down to the intake holes through the pump, also using backwash a little to clean the sand up. Do this a little at a time as to not flood the neighbors.
3. Hook the hose chain to the bottom pool drain and run it to the sewer pipe at front of house, and put down in pipe to drain water down it.
4. Drain most of the water, up to 2 days time possibly.
5. Use shop vac and old towels to get the rest of the water from the bottom and creases.
6. Sprinkle with baby powder all on the inside.
7. Start folding and wiping any wet areas and air drying as I go to be sure no moisture from underneath side.
8. Store in a large Christmas tree bag as we no longer have the box
9. Clean and dry outside of pump and store in the garage. Do I take all the sand out of the pump and use new sand next year?

That seems to be a clean out- are u on a septic system or city sewer? If its septic/water treatment plant dont go that route.
you do not need to let the fc go to zero before u drain. Normal fc levels w/ cya are not much different than whats from the tap w/out cya & u water the grass & flush that down the drain daily.
You don’t need to dump the sand/get new u less you need to move it from its location & its too heavy to do so w/ sand in it. Either way pull the plug on the bottom to drain the water from the sand filter.
The rest seems like a solid plan
some people put mothballs & such in storage with them to deter rodents as well.

U know - if you’re toilet backs up the plumber opens that & can snake the pipe towards the house or towards the street.
