Mastertemp 400 now will l not heat

What regulator did you replace?

Check the gas pressure.

Are all of the gas valves on?

What voltage is connected to the heater?

Is the correct voltage selector plug installed?

So I am having some issues with my 2014 Mastertemp 400. (See other posts) Looking at the Raypak 400,000 or the Hayward. I run the Hayward Tristar 950 with Omnihub. What do I get going with the Hayward for connectivity over the Raypak? I coulds do the Raypak 2 wire, what do I get with the Hayward 3 wire to the omni?

What is the gas pressure before you start the heater?

Does the pressure change when the heater tries to fire?

What is the exact model number of the heater? (Part number p/n from the sticker).

Maybe remove one of the bottom manifold bolts to see if water comes out.

Check the voltage and current going to the igniter when the heater tries to fire.

Maybe some pictures would be helpful.

I have no clue if the pressure changes when the heater tries to fire. I do not have tools to test that.

Model number is: 460736

I can see water exiting the heater through the clear top of the one way valve

Igniter is working as I can feel the heat. I actually broke a yesterday when I pulled it out and it was hot.

I will get as detailed as possible.
Heater was bought used in March/April. Had to get a new Gas Regulator as the old was gunked up. I did and heater worked great and no issues when used sporadically since. Hadnt turned on in over a month and when we did I was getting the "service System" the PS light was coming on. Changed Pressure Switch and still gettting an error so I replaced the whole board. No error any more. Now when I turn it on I immediatly get the "service heater" light that goes out after a few seconds while blower and such is turning on and "heating" led is blinking. THen solid, then blinking. Replaced the igniter and it seem s to be getting hot as heck when it is trying to light. So I figured I would try another regulator just in case. Still nothing so I am pretty sure it isnt that. After a few minutes I get the final "service heater" and the ignition module blinkls 3 times for Ignition lockout.

Didn't you say that the gas pressure was good?

How did you test the gas pressure?

Remove one of the bottom manifold bolts to see if water comes out.

Check the gas pressure before the heater fires and as it tries to fire.

Check the voltage and current going to the igniter.

I mentioned that I have no way to test the gas pressure. I know that I have 2" pipe running to it and there is gas to the heater. I know the ignitor is heating as it is glowing when on. I think I am going to return all the parts I bought and take the $700 and put it towards a Raypak or a Hayward. By the time I pay someone to come out and do the same troubleshooting I will spend more money.

So, I am an idiot. I installed a Hayward Tristar 950 Omni and a salt system this spring (myself). And I left the breaker box needing organizing and some rewiring. I worked on it a few weeks back and redid the wiring. Added lights for our Basketball court and ran the wires so I have automated. Was unhooking everything last night and the 110v jumper was on the ground in the baggie. I thought to my self "Did I originally have it at 220 ?" Sure as Darn, I switched out the jumper to 110 and it fired right up. Just saved $2500 by not having to get a new heater. Thanks for all the advice. Now to go spend that money on my wife for our anniversary on Sunday.

Did you originally have 120 or 240 going to the heater?

In any case, glad we could help you get it working.

Thanks.
