My RJ-60+ is showing the subject message. The guys at Circupool were very quick to try and walk me through a troubleshooting sequence. They're now sending me a 'RJ60N PCB Adaptor' that goes between the control board and the plug for the cell. I installed the unit in April and haven't had to do more than adjust the output since. I brag on it every weekend. I get the part Friday...wish me luck. Has anyone else been down this road?1599049125580.png

Interesting. This is the first I've heard about this. Circupool has been very good about customer service with me and most owners where I've read their posts. Any discussion with CS about why this happened? Corrosion or bad soldering on the original board?

No real discussion as to why. The board and all contacts/connectors are clean. The install is in an 'out of the way' place, so no traffic to disturb the cable. I have a vertical install with the INLET up. The install directions tell you to treat the cable end as the INLET. I looped the cable over the PVC pipe to relieve the stress on the connection at the cell. I may ask them about this and flip my cell. I noticed that water can get down into that connection area.

Interesting that they have a fix already made up.

Tim,

Thanks for posting this, it's always nice when new solutions are posted. I have an RJ 30+ that I'm on my second year with at 40% running about 5-8 hrs per day. I only adjust run time once or twice per year. Seems to be making chlorine as predicted, never had to clean yet and I didn't see any evidence of deposits at my 6 month inspection. I would expect soon I'll see some kind of decline... fingers crossed for now.

Is it producing as expected? How long and at what percentage do you run it at?

It was producing wonderfully! 30%-35% for 12 hour run time keeps my 23.5k pool at ~5ppm FC. ~3800ppm salt. It had made my pool truly trouble free....I bought LC last night :(

The 'magic module' as I shall call it has worked! The 'generate' light is on and bubbles are leaving the cell. A big THANK YOU to CircuPool for being so fast and friendly!

Going to chime in here with my recent experience. My 3-year-old Circupool RJ45+ was working fine until a week ago when stopped working, frozen on "Cell Connection" (just to be clear, when working, it shows "Cell Connection" for a few seconds after power on, but then quickly switches to "RJ series" and then normal operation. When broken, it stops on "Cell Connection" and will not advance).

I called Circupool and they suggested reconnecting everything, checking for dirt and bad pins in the connector, etc. I had already done all that but I did it again and no joy.

So they shipped me the magic module. They charged me ~$40 which I assume is list price pro-rated by the 3 years I've owned it. Would've been nice if the fix were free but $40 isn't bad. UPS chose to send it via the scenic route (Houston to New Jersey to Chicago to Tucson) so it took a few days longer to arrive than it should've. Obviously not Circupool's fault.

Once the part arrived it took me about 5 minutes to install and imagine my surprise when it actually worked!

No, I don't know what's in the magic module and I didn't ask. It is interesting that they have a fix ready for this - kind of looks like a design flaw, probably a marginal voltage threshold somewhere. But hey, it works now, so I'm happy.
