Hi all

I’m working with an easy touch system with a intellichlor swg and an intelliflo pump my problem is the pump will turn on but the SWG won’t turn on when the pump kicks on so the pool is not getting chlorinated also ever time I set a schedule on the easy touch it’s disappears

Thanks

Murphy,

What specific EasyTouch do you have?? Does your EasyTouch have a load center will circuit breakers?

If wired correctly, the SWCG should never come on unless the pump is running AND the system is in the Pool mode or the Spa mode. The pump can run when not in one of those modes..

Do you have ScreenLogic? If so, show me the following pages..

I service the pool and every week I get there the pump is running but the easy touch and swg are off has me stumped I know the owner is running it through his phone so I will have to get settings I also can’t set the schedules on the easy touch they just disappear the next week does that have anything to do with him running it through his phone?

Thanks a bunch

Murphy,

That appears to be an EasyTouch lite.. It only has max of 4 schedules/egg-timers.. I suspect that the owner has loaded more than 4 from ScreenLogic so additional schedules do not work.

When the pump is running and the IC40 is not, check to see of the system is in the Pool mode or the Spa mode.. If not, that is the problem.. It could also be that they wired the IC40 through an Aux relay and not the pump/filter relay, in which case it will never come on unless the Aux relay is closed.

Wait... Did you say the EasyTouch and the IC40 are both off, but the pump is running?? That would mean the pump is being run from the pump's control panel and not by the EasyTouch..

I assume you are not in the Service mode... In theory, the pump's display should say "Display not active" unless you are in the Service mode or there is a failure with the com port.. In the Service mode you can only control the pump from the pump's display..

You need to edit your profile and add the In the Industry (ITI) tag to your account.. It does not mean anything other that we know that you work in the pool industry.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Murphy,

I don't think the problem is the the pump and the system are not communicating after what you said.. But I can't tell squat unless we know exactly what the schedule is...

I suspect when the pump is running and the SWCG is not, that the system is not in the pool or spa mode.

Until we can see the actual schedule, there is no way for me to know what is going on. Can the owner send up some screenshots??

Thanks,

Jim R.

Yes I can have the owner send me over some screen shots, when I get there I turn the easy touch on and that turns the swg on also while turning on the easy touch it’s in pool mode.
Thanks

Murphy,

That proves that the SWCG is connected correctly to the pump/filter relay... So, that means the pump/filter is not closed when you get there, but the pump is running.. That should mean that the system is not in the pool or spa mode, but is being told to run the pump. Without the pump/filter relay closed the SWCG should not be on.

I suspect the owner has a schedule something like this...

Pool - 8 am until 8 pm
Cleaner - 8 PM until 8 am...

With the above schedule, the pump would run 24/7, but the SWCG would only run from 8 am until 8 pm, because the pump/filter relay will not close if not in the pool mode.

To fix this problem you would run the following schedule

Pool - 8 am until 8 am
Cleaner 8 pm until 8 am..

The above schedule will keep the pool on all the time, letting the SWCG work all the time, yet tell the pump to run at cleaner speed from 8 pm until 8 am..

Of course I know this is not the same schedule you have, but it gives you a basic idea of why the problem is happening.

Please show us the actual schedule the pool owner is using..

Thanks,

Jim R.
