I recently had to upgrade my pump and went with the Superflo VS. The VS has it's own control for operations, so it simplified my life some, but I wanted to keep the ability to turn on the cleaner or hottub on demand (remotely) as I was able to do with the iAqualink and the old "dumb" single speed Pentair. So I bought the communication cable that the manual for the Superflo said to buy and wired it into the iAqualink per the manual here: https://www.doheny.com/media/Pdfs/74832-manual.pdf
Basically, the wiring was connect the ground wire (black) to ground, the red wire (5 volt) to the relay and then pick which speed you want to set the pump to from the other wires. I picked speed 1 and connected it to the relay. This worked for about a week and then the pump stopped responding to being "switched on" from the relay. In troubleshooting, I connected the "quick clean" and everything worked fine so I assumed I left it that way. Fast forward a month and I noticed that the relay is again not overridding the Pentair pump. It acts as if there is nothing coming over the cable.
Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions? Any idea on how to test if it is the pump or the wire? What could be causing something that was working fine, to stop working suddenly?
