Can anybody recommend a way to remove the cover so that not all the rain water gets in the pool?

Get a small submersible pump, or start a siphon and remove the water first.
youI’m in Florida and we get RAIN! I used the wet vac yesterday and actually removed 500 gallons of water from the cover!
Is there a hard cover for this animal? Or a special “rain cover”? Some gadget to place underneath the cover itself? I can’t wet vac it everyday...it took over an hour

@Oly had 2 suggestions. They make submersible pumps that automatically come on and drain for this exact purpose. Or you can use a garden hose let it siphon itself when need be.
Most pools get rained in without issue. If you know a whopper is coming, you can open the cover or peel it back enough to let most the water in. This won’t help you everytime, as the weather people seemingly use test strips to predict, but it would help most of the time.
