We are set
I am so ready for this build to be over....almost there.
We had our landscaper come and redo the grades and figure out the solution which involves french drains and certain ways to grade the grass area. While doing this we were informed that while all the other concrete is 4" the driveway they poured is only 2" to 2.5"...not suitable for a drivewaySigh.....................nope, nope, nope...............that will NOT work!!!! Your garage WILL get flooded. You KNOW how it rains there in TX. The same as it does here, fast, hard, and heavy
Here are my gut thoughts. They have two choices:
-take the lower stuff out and I mean all out and repour it so it is level with a slight slope to the back side of the garage WITH a GREAT plan on how that area will drain and where the water will end up.
-pour onto the pergola area to build it up BUT I don't like this at all as I really don't know if you can/should pour concrete on top of each other.
You know what I am going to say next.................put in WRITING your concerns about this and ask him when he will be out there with a solution! Try to have another adult there to witness what he says. After he leaves put in writing what was discuses and send that to him!
