Hello all! We are just beginning the pool installation exploration and are feeling a bit overwhelmed. Thankfully we came across this website which has a lot of good information. We are in Massachusetts and was hoping that someone could recommend a fiberglass pool installer. I tried the search function and didn't see anything so apologies if I missed previous discussion on this topic or if I am in the wrong place. We have tried googling and got a few names, but would love to talk to someone who has actually installed a pool to get their thoughts. Ideally, we would love someone who could do the install and hardscaping as a package deal, but I am assuming that will not be easy to find. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'm in Westminster. We are using Snyder pools. If you have a straightforward job he seems pretty good. We've run into a lot of challenges with our sloped yard. He has companies that he works with but he doesn't put them in the package. What I mean is the concrete guy is going to come out once the pool is in and draw out our decking and estimate, but he is in touch with Eddie Snyder on timing. Eddie also contacts the gas and electric folks for timing, but we pay them directly. Our pool is ordered and scheduled install is June 9th. So I can't tell you much more yet. What I learned my last pool build is cost always go up and the pool builders sort of act like your yard will be perfect when they leave. In truth there will still be a lot of landscaping needs.
Welcome to the forum. If you are set on a fiberglass pool you should know that the installation is critical and should only be performed by a very competent business. Preferably one that does not hire subcontractors but instead employs its own people. Make sure to perform due diligence in vetting the installer as a lot can go wrong. I would contact several of the prospective contractors cutomers and also seek out clients they did not provide for reference. Pool companies will never provide references for unhappy clients. You can ask on this forum once you choose a contractor if anyone has had issues with them. Is there a reason why you have chosen to go fiberglass? They can have a lot of issues such a spider cracks in the gel coat, gel coat degradation, and installation problems. Do a search on this site for fiberglass problems. I'm in Delaware and just got my fiberglass pool completed and opened for the first time. I ended up going with Leisure Pools which is one of the common manufacturers out there. There are others good ones like Viking etc, not sure if you have looked at them yet. You can check with them and see if they have any recommended dealers in your area or search here for any hits in MA. The builder I used handled everything from permits to landscaping so that made things much easier having a familiar person to contact when needed. Whoever you end up going with make sure they really know about fiber glass pools and not just a builder that does them from time to time. From what I've learned here it pays to get a good builder who works with them all the time. Also make sure you cover landscaping which will be an issue when its all said and done if not accounted for up front.

We are leaning towards fiberglass since it seems to have less future maintenance based on the research we have done, but I will definitely do a search on fiberglass problems to make sure that we are making the right choice. Another plus for the fiberglass was the quick installation so we can enjoy it as soon as possible, but unfortunately we dragged our feet too long so I don't think the pool will be happening this summer for us.

Hello, I'm in the Seacoast area of NH an curious if you moved forward with the Fiberglass pool? I'm reviewing these currently and have gotten a couple of quotes but have not moved forward. Would love to know how you might be progressing with this process.

Actually the least cost is a liner pool. They are cheaper up front than fiberglass and liners can go 10 years. Fiberglass are good pools they need a proper install and the right yard that is dry no water table issues
Hi! We have not made much progress. One of the installers (pioneer valley pools) that we were looking at has decided to stop taking orders for this year due to high demand and low inventory. We have Cherry Hill Pools coming out next weekend. We got a gunite quote back in April, but are leaning towards fiberglass due to the low maintenance.
