Our Pool Build, Please Comment on Equipment - Frisco TX - BYOP

Here is our initial plan for our pool build! Any feedback on equipment etc is appreciated.

Nice, looks like a great start. Only comments I have are:

- I dont love the steps on the other side of the spa. I would consider moving the spa to the corner or making the spa bigger to kill those steps.
- Consider getting a robot instead of a pressure cleaner. Its much newer technology for the same price, and doesnt need a booster pump.
- I would go with the Intellicenter instead of Easy Touch since it is newer technology.

I agree that the steps aren't ideal, but I want a way to easily get out of the pool on the other end. I think those steps will only be about 2 feet wide, but they would serve the purpose. We just dont have a ton of room as I guess the Spa takes up more space (I always thought they were 7 feet but I guess the lip on them takes up more space than I initially realized) and if we widen the pool then will add more perimeter and cost. I tried convincing wife on moving it to the corner, but she is set on the symmetry of it.

if we were going to keep steps on each side, what width of steps would you recommend, I do have some room to increase the width of the pool if we need to

I just went and measured ours and they are 6' across. I think you could get by with closer to 4, but 3 seems a bit tight.

I didnt really notice the width of them on my comment, I just dont like that the steps on the other side of the spa create a blind spot in the pool from the house/patio. If you don't have little ones its probably not that big of a deal.

You could also move the spa a few feet to the left and create more of a long bench/tanning ledge that ran the length of the pool.

Looks nice. I would consider a 6' tanning ledge just to give more swimming room, that tanning ledge is huge. You could make the spa and tanning ledge on the same end with the spa in the corner as JJ indicated, but how you have it is nice also. It's all your preference and if you like it go for it.

Agree with JJ on robot, however with that large of a tanning ledge, you are going to be doing a lot of sweeping no matter what.

If you keep that large of tanning ledge, or any tanning ledge for that matter, and the color you have shown, I would recommend the Puerto Rico blend for the pebble. If you haven't chosen your plaster contractor, I can suggest one that will add the glass beads at no extra cost, it's just no longer "Stonescapes".

2nd the Intellicenter.

If you have a lot of wind, make sure and get the self lighting fire bowls. We ended up scratching ours out of the build due to the amount of wind we get.

Make sure you can adjust the bubblers. I like ours, just wish we could turn them down a little.

You will love having VSF on both pool main and feature. Make sure the Mastertemp is the 400k btu one.

Not sure having the return locations right next to the skimmer is a good idea, but will let someone else chime in on that. Our skimmers are on the end, and I find the wind usually determines more than the return on where things end up. Would suggest thinking about wind patterns for skimmer locations.

yeah its only going to be 3 feet of blind spot and 4 feet deep so not too concerned there but agree that 2 feet (i think its 3 feet - 1 feet of coping) is a bit tight. 3 would probably be a bit more comfortable. We already have the tanning ledge/steps on the other end, so don't really need 2 tanning ledges.

Any thoughts on whether I should add an inground filtration system or not? friends say that it may help heat up the pool faster/more consistently but not sure if that feature alone would be worth it but I know its harder to put in later
