...Nothing like adding sharp stones to your Baja.

With the nice weather in SoCal been getting ready to enjoy the pool. I noticed a few things.. the aggregate from garage shingles is ending up on the Baja... and it appears to be binding pretty well to PebbleFina. Plaster is almost 2 years old. Probably because no flow over baja. I had the return jet pointed to stairs trying to avoid problems there. Now I readjusted jet but it doesn’t do a good job of covering the whole Baja. I wish they would have put two jets in that area. Is there an easy solution to this? I was thinking rain gutter to catch shingle particles but unsure if that will be effective. It’s roughly 5ft between roof edge and waters edge. Any advice appreciated. Trying to avoid a daily sweep of Baja. Thanks and happy swimming!

I think a gutter is going to be your answer. That or a new roof without asphalt shingles!

Yeah, you need a gutter on the roof to divert rain water. If you do it right, you can add a rain barrel and capture rain water. Then you can fill your pool with that.

Really? That doesn't seem like a good idea to me. All that bird poop and whatever else settled on that roof washed into that barrel. I wouldn't put that in my pool.

Thanks. That’s sounds like the easiest solution so far. Using a pumice stone to get those stone freed from plaster is not something I wish to do again.

People do it all the time around here. You can add a very cheap and simple cartridge filter to the output to trap fine particulates and many people add a stretched nylon filter over the intake to capture debris. Some tanks come with chemical float if you want to slightly chlorinate the water to make it potable. Otherwise, you can simply add it you pool and the filtration system and chlorine will handle any issues.
