Hi I am new and had two questions. My lake shaped pool has wrinkles and seams in the liner. Will I be risking vinyl liner tears/leaks if I use a bot that is self contained to clean my pool? We did not cover this winter and there is debris that I can't seem to lift and skim. It isn't time to open yet and the pump is stored. I float a chlorine dispenser to keep the water clear until opening. Otherwise it is a salt pool. I posted another thread asking if my kids could sit in a bromine spa and then dive into a chlorine pool.

I have not heard of a vinyl liner being torn by a pool cleaner. The liners seem to be thick enough unless your liner is old and brittle anyway.

Your bromine spa question was answered in your other thread.

No, unless otherwise specified, robots are designed to be used in liner pools. The only time i get a little concerned is if the 'bot gets hung up on a main drain and spins its tracks continually in the same spot for a while before freeing itself.

Is your robot big and heavy? a few years ago I bought a robot that everyone was raving about on here. I was lucky enough to get 22 holes in my brand new liner within three months of use. After a fierce long drawn out battle with Maytronics they paid me a settlement and replaced my robot with my current one.

Was your initial robot big and heavy? I'm looking at getting a robot very soon
