I did similar one. Always release the negative pressure from whatever fitting can’t get sucked into the pipe. Mine was a rubber stopper that sucked itself past the first 90 elbow. Lots of praying and cursing with a shop vac to get it out.
I just unscrewed too much and the screw fell down. Thank god it moved right through instantly. You should have seen us bent over the skimmer both of us with our hands in there trying to get the plug out.

Did you take those readings with the water temp at room temp? If not, get a sample and let it sit for an hour and take another set of tests. Salt is particularly sensitive to water temp.
Did a warm water bath. All taken at 70 degrees except fc cause I wanted to make sure it was accurate cause of being out of pool. All others at 70. I’m surprised the most about salt. Ch and ta is typical for my last opening. My ph is always through the roof. It’s at 7.9 now for my csi.
I’m going to dump 128 oz of chlorine to get it up to 10-11 and let it drop down on its own.
Can I do my cya tomorrow if chlorine levels are up. I forgot?

I want to open here in southern Minnesota in the next week! Am I crazy?! We have a heater (of course, it’s MN) and I want to turn it all on to give our family something to do during all of this quarantine time. Thoughts on this? Any risk? It is totally thawed, just needing a good clean up and chlorine!
Oh - also, do I need to wait until the pump is on to put in the chlorine (SLAM I need 2 gallons in) or can I do it before hand and maybe run the robot?! I’m TERRIBLE at being patient.

What is your water temp? Mine is 53 this morning. I threw in my robot and fired up the pumps last night. You do not need the pump on to add chlorine and the robot is great to mix the water up. My Robot specified not to run under 55 degrees (53 is close enough!) so check your owners manual. I plan on heating the pool next week and we'll be in it. With my heater I am looking at @ $4/hour to run the heater. That will provide me with 1 degree per hour rise. So from 53 to 88 that's 35 degrees or @ $140 to get to 88. Then I figure the pool will cost a good $100/week to maintain 88 with these temps (wishful thinking probably). All in all I am budgeting an extra $500 to open early for gas charges.

I'm hoping to open as soon as no ice conditions permit. I'm tired of looking at the winter cover. Even if the water is too cold to swim, we can hang out near the pool and enjoy fresh air.

It is! No ice at all - I was a bit surprised by that, but I think our dark grey cover helps warm it a bit!

Nice to know I’m not the only one on TFP with a larger than “average” family! We have 11 children, ages 3 to 21 (Yes, they’re all mine. Yes, they all have the same father. Yes, we know what causes it. ?) The oldest has moved out, so that leaves 10 at home, 8 school age who I have to teach right now!!! Thankfully, the older 4 do a lot of their work independently (school sends lessons online).
We had contemplated getting a heater, but this shutdown was a big factor in nudging us to go ahead and get it and start the swim season early! There aren’t many activities that all my children with their wide age range can enjoy together but swimming is one of them! Every day is a pool party at my house! ?
Just need a break in the weather to get the concrete pad poured to be able to install the heater!

Hey, did you get a million worms in your pool last night? That rain LOADED my pool with them. My A20 got 95% on the first run. And two piles in the pump basket from the main drains. YUK. No runoff, just massive coming out party. My pool is 51 today.

Not too bad probably 25 or so. It was funny for the most part they were all in the same place on the bottom so I netted 90% of them out quick and easy. And my friend the salamander was in the pool again. It is one of those long skinny ones. When I find him in there I fish him out and put him in the sun but it appears cold water doesn't bother him much.
