I live in the Philadelphia suburbs and have a pretty big, old Sylvan pool that I'm looking to renovate in the next year. Looking forward to talking about it more in the Construction forum.

Renno Troubles

It's pool facelift week and I've run into a couple of troubles. 1) The coping they put in is almost 2" above the deck in a couple places, one being right in the shallow end where the foot traffic is. It's an old deck that we didn't replace as part of this job and it is uneven. They told me...

Scaling or mottling?

Pool was replastered in May and has gradually developed a spotted gray pattern. I am not that upset about the look although I hope it does not get darker. But I am curious about whether this is typical mottling, whether from poor workmanship or otherwise. Or is it scaling of some sort...
