My company rented out an entire theater (4 screens) for an early screening tonight of Skywalker! I was selected (first come, first served) and so I'll be seeing it in 4 hours! And they are also opening the concession stands for us anything we want! Taking my son. He says a few of the kids in the class spoiled some other movies for him so he is going to make sure to have some spoilers for them tomorrow.

I'm in right now movie starts in less than an hour. Nah no bonus at my level but they take care of us quite well.

Perks are sometimes better than bonuses. Just being appreciated does wonders for morale. I work for a behemoth of a company and I’m not even ‘just a number’. I’m an alphanumeric number. ‘X2751GH52’ Plus no bonus. Or anything holiday related ever because it may offend somebody. I’m not Jewish but I’d be just as thrilled with a $500 Hanukkah bonus. Corporate HR doesn’t seem to agree.

I’ve been a number for over 30 years. It has its benefits. When I call in unable to go to work there’s no questions, just “what’s your number? Call back when your ready.”

My wife took my son and mate to Skywalker two days ago, after all that SW Lego I’ve bought him she gets to see it before me! No fair...

I'm number 2074722246773485207821695222107608587480996474721117292752992589912196684750549658310084416732550077.

Yeah, I feel special.

It turns out that it's a prime number. So, at least there's that.

Also, it's my lucky number, but it's hard to use.

So whattayathink @PoolGate ? Worth the wait ? I dont trust the critics or any the exit polls worth a dang. I really liked the last 2. The 8 year old deep down inside me is just so happy to be watching SW on the big screen again that a few plot holes or off acting isnt going to ruin it.

Not too bad. 3.5 out of 5. Not a lot of plot development and a little predictable. Action pretty much 100% through it. They pack a lot of stuff into 2 and 1/2 hours. And a lot of the scenes suffer for that. You'll like it.

Nice. I dunno what it is. The prequels were pretty terrible. Didnt care. 8 year old me bouncing in the movie seat. Pew Pew Pew !!! Lol.
And the 4th Indiana Jones movie. It was horrendous. Absolutely awful. But all 6000 punches thrown were over animated and had that Indiana-Jones-punch sound that sounds nothing like a punch. Did not care how awful it was. Loved every second.

There are movies that are just FUN to watch and enjoy!

I usually feel like im the only one left who watches movies just for fun. Between the snobby critics and the regular-joe with a Yelp account that THINKS he is a snobby critic, everyone seems to feel a need to prove how smart and artsy they are by finding every fault instead of enjoying their movie. I've sat through some pretty awful movies. *Cough cough*anythingwithWithWillFerrel*cough* It was still fun seeing how terrible it could be, knowing it would most likely become a cult-classic and make more money in the long haul than the acclaimed movies.

I'm looking foward to seeing what happens with Cats. It was pretty much unanimously ripped by all the critics. But the movie isnt for the critics. Or anybody like me old enough to have seen the play. Its for the kids and they will eat it up. Maybe their parents wont want to take them due to the reviews, but they will buy/stream the movie later and it will make insane amounts of money.

I don't want to think at a movie! I want to get immersed in the story and care about the people even if it is just to laugh at them LOL Movies are for FUN!! Not saying I don't see a serious movie every once in a while but it has to really catch my attention and be about something I care about. We have learned to not even read reviews. We look at the subject and go from there.

Saw it last night with my oldest son. He liked it and thought it great. He’s my LEGO engineer kid who loves all the new sets and knows every detail about them before they hit the shelves. I’m happy I took him to a late show as I get to sit in a luxury theatre recliner with a beer....

As for my opinion - the movie sucked and is on par with the lameness of the three prequel movies (SW episodes 1/2/3). Just an awful plot supported by over-the-top special effects. It was basically just a sequence of fan-filled nostalgic mini-stories that added up to....nothing. The ending was terrible and predictable and filled with the usual PC nonsense. There wasn’t even a decent lightsaber fighting sequence. Just a dumb movie.

But hey, if you’re a fan of the special effects, then it’s all good.

Hittin the nail on the head right there.

That sucks. We are all, or....were....all, looking foward to it. Sorry you got let down.

It will be interesting to see what they do going foward. This is just the end of the Skywalker saga. The universe continues on and i'm sure Disney wants more billions. Thousands of billions even. I'm expecting one every 2 years from here on out.

you mean there wasn't even a big planet killing canon that seems to be all the rage in last 7 films?.. I'll go just because I have to... been watching these films since I was in high school. Bad or not I can't not go to the last installment.. then I can in all conscience ignore any reboots.

....This is just the end of the Skywalker saga.

Actually, given the way they ended it, it probably isn’t. Disney left the door wide open for more Skywalker sagas. They’re going to milk it for all the billions they can.

Disney+ did very well on The Mandalorian (mainly because they let Jon Favreau create and produce it). I also think “Solo : A Star Wars Story” and “Rogue One” were very good movies in spite of what the critics said. If they focused their energy on making great spin-off films and explored other franchises, then they could stop beating the dead Skywalker horse....
