New pool in Central Florida.

I'm a firefighter. Work 24 straight then get 48 hours off. Can't wait to use that to my advantage when I'm home alone in my new pool... On a Monday. Works out great for running errands and all sorts of things... Until I'm working on Christmas, or any other holiday, kids Birthdays ect.

I was thinking Firefighter or EMT. Thanks for being there and doing that job!

Can you swap out for the kid's stuff? The holidays I understand but would think there would be a little wiggle room on the other.

Thanks for the kind words. I can usually get days off for what I want. Just the big ones that are hard to get (ie Christmas/Thanksgiving/Easter)

On a back to the pool note... Wifey is happy! Pool has gotten a few good baths for the last three days. Plumbing is getting started! Very exciting stuff!

Update so far... Most of the plumbing is in and tile went up today. Love the way it is turning out! Minor issue with the plumbing placement, PB said no worries it will go wherever I want it to go! Also plumber is really good about not using 90 degree elbows unless absolutely necessary. received_459528771402328.jpegreceived_2763193193773055.jpegrps20191227_202749.jpg

MBoymer, congrats on your new pool build and welcome to TFP. Your set seems similar to ours and it is the perfect one in my opinion. Here are some suggestions if I may:
Congrats, some suggestions if I may?
1. Speaking from experience . Put in a double door on one of the sides of the pool cage. I only had one door and ended up putting in a double door and another single door on the opposite side. I should have listened to my wife
2. Plan on plumbing electrical and water for a future summer kitchen.
3. Plan on adding solar and heat pump in your equipment pad.
4. Make sure that you have a very large equipment pad, our equipment pad is 19 ft long x 9 ft wide.
5. Put lights at pool equipment pad.
6. Put in water spigots in all 4 corners of the screen cage both inside and outside the screen cage.
7. Put in electrical outlets in all 4 corners of the screen cage both inside and outside the screen cage.
8. Go with a large outdoor space as possible. We have 1800sq ft of pavers and we wish we did a larger space. You will be quite surprised how much room tables chairs and lounges take up.
9. Run conduits for speaker wires if you plan on wired speakers.
10. Plan on positioning your pool so that you can watch TV comfortably when you are in it. I know that this may sound strange but we love watching TV, football games, NASCAR races and movies when we are relaxing in the pool.

Look at the 3 links in my signature bar for ideas. Post lots of pics

Brentr,

Thanks so much! Oddly enough, there have been plans in the works for several years now for Most of what you suggest! I had considered water outside the cage, but not inside. In addition we have an outdoor shower with hot and cold water already! So I'll answer all your suggeations (which are great!)
1)we will have a total of 4 screen doors (no doubles) but I have a 6 foot openings coming from the house if needed for furniture (also while I'm paying the PB for this, I used to work with aluminum and can do this if needed)
2) Already have this for our bar complete with hot/cold h2o, drain and electricity. (Yet another project on the list lol!)
3) Heat pump is already a thing for the pool (140k btu)
4) Have not had this discussion yet, but will do! I can also finish concrete.
5) Yuuup need lights and already have to run electric.
6)love this idea and will be easy since we are running drip tubing for future landscaping
7) Did I mention that I can do electric? Did not think of outlets inside but will do! Also, floodlights shining out into the yard. (worked for my Father in law for 20 years in construction)
8)including the Pool, the space will be around 1787 square feet. 545 of that will be under elite panel roof with fans (and the wet bar)
9) already have speakers for the TV (which you can see from the pool!)
10) see above. We are actually removing 4 of our seven posts from the current screen room to ensure this is the case. (new beam for the elite panel roof is verrry spendy)??.

Thank you for the suggestions! I can't go much bigger with the pavers or cage due to budget constraints but we did up size it once and the wife is already happy about that
