My pump and IC40 power supply which will feed Intelliconnect via RS485 are on same breaker timer controlled, would the Intelliconnect then reboot daily losing all settings WiFi etc?

You don't need a timer in the power circuit if the IntelliConnect is controlling the pump and IC40.

Thanks AJW, makes sense I was wondering though if i could keep the timer wired as a doomsday control backup? When internet wifi is down for example? Guessing no I can’t because timer powers Ichlor power box which then powers Intelliconnect. Can’t imagine Intelliconnect saves all the network set up WiFi etc but perhaps its saved in the software so may just try for fun ?

If your WiFi is down you just go to where the IntetlliConnect box is mounted and it has buttons inside to control it. Then you have the circuit breaker to turn off all power if necessary.

I think you are confused about some wiring. The iChlor power supply does not power the IntelliConnect.

I don't know if you plan to do the wiring and I was not going to raise the issue in your first post. The pump and iChlor should be on a separate GFCI CB from the IntelliConnect. I would put the IntelliConnect on a separate CB. If your pump causes a GFCI CB trip you do not want to lose power to the IntelliConnect.

The Intelliconnect should store Wifi settings in non-volatile memory in case of a power outage.

AJW, I'm positive it does. I've lost power, and when it came back up ten seconds later (standby generator) the Intelliconnect took a minute and then connected. Also, if the Intelliconnect has a pump running at 11am or 7pm central time, it will resync the time with Pentair. You'll know when that happens, because a running pump will seem to momentarily stop, then restart.

Great advice thanks Allen I am migrating from old Intermatic timer relay so I only had the 20A double breaker to power Intelliconnect Ichlor and pump. The Ichlor is now on all the time but the rs485 connection I believe will keep it generating only when flow and pump are there. I get the benefit of having automation on a dedicated breaker 120v but I just don’t have the runs figured out and the knockouts are limited so am I begging for trouble jumping the L1, L2 from Intelliconnect into line 1,2 at relay 1 to power the pump?

Is this all 120V or 240V? 120V you don’t have L1 and L2 hot lines. You have a hot wire and a neutral.

Is the CB GFCI?

Is the SWG also on that breaker?

It will work until you have a problem that trips the CB. Then it will not be obvious what device on the circuit is causing the trip.

Thanks Allen what I meant to type was “yes I wish I had the benefit of a separate 120v“ for just the Intelliconnect but for now only have the 20A double breaker GFCI (240v) going in to L1, L2 then jumped to Line 1 and Line 2 on relay 1 This powers Intelliconnect, IntelliChlor and pump.

however I do have pool light on its own GFI 120v. Maybe I should bring that in to L1, L2 to power Intelliconnect and jump to relay 2 for the light control?

Pool lights often cause GFCI trips. I would leave it on the 240V line and see how it works out.

Thank you Allen you are a scholar and a kind gentleman! this Intelliconnect is awesome just got the light to relay 2 and apparently is a Pentair LED so light show controls will entertain me for awhile! If anyone is thinking of this for your basic pool do it the Intelliconnect is awesome! And you can DIY with basic knowledge!
