New Pool Build, Yet Another in DFW

Couple shots with the lights on after dark. I ran the wire for the landscape lights to the planters and while everything was torn up from construction. After the decking was done I just made the connections to the lights. Have a smart plug in the transformer box and have them set to come on a sunset every day. ??

Yeah, I agree about the blue. The blue/green colors seem to penetrate the water way more than the other colors. The red is very anemic IMO. Regular old white is good too.

Yeah, I'm missing the fire bowls still. They were supposed to be in today...but they're saying early next week now. Can't wait to get those installed and play with them. ?

I finally installed the fire bowls yesterday. Everything is mostly done, just a few things left to take care of..irrigation, sod, etc. I think the water color on the French Gray is going end up pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Really looks great with the tile. ?

 Man that sparkles like crazy!!!

How is the water care going for you?
I haven't been doing anything yet except brushing, skimming and cleaning out the skimmers. The startup guys have been doing the chemicals for the first couple weeks...aka the test strip crew as I call them. ?

Once they get through going through their motions, I will take over and do everything correctly. ;)

Wanna 'nother project? I wish there were an easy way to stain/paint those aluminum poles on the fence so they didn't stand out.

Maybe using a piece of cardboard under to protect the fence while spraying them with metal stain to match the fence... then move on to the next one and so on..?

Might be something to do down the road.. They don't bother me too much right now, but that's a good idea. =D

We have finally picked our builder. Getting a really good feeling about him compared to all the others. Thanks @Poolmama! for the recommendation. Here are some pics of the design and a 2d drawing..the large rectangle that looks like a concrete pad is the dimensions of the swing set, so he could move it around and make sure it would fit.

It's a little shorter than some of the other designs, but it is wider...so it ends up being roughly the same size as most of the others. We're not lap swimmers or anything, so that isn't a big deal for us. There will be a couple tweaks here and there, most likely adding a couple fire bowls on the top of the back sheer wall and a little more decking.

Here are some specifics on the pool. I still need to get model numbers on the equipment and I see one I think needs to be changed, the Easytouch Lite.

So who do you end up going with? What was the deciding factor? I am in the process now as well. Have talked with Crown, Foley, Hauk, Riverbend-Sandler, Robertson, Southernwind and Venture. It is crazy what prices are like. Sticker shock for sure but labor and materials are pretty high in our market. I met with Foley today to review their quote and with Southernwind. I really need to start a build thread.

Finally got the time lapse video together on the build. My first attempt at video editing...pretty happy with how it turned out. (y)
