Has anyone used San Juan Pools of Colorado? I can't find any reviews for them online but they have an A+ w/ the BBB, were featured in a Colorado magazine a few years ago, and according to buildzoom they do around 17 builds a year. It just feels strange to not have any reviews online. Should I ask to talk to some former clients and check out their pools? Their site is very dated but that doesn't mean much...

I try not to hold it against smaller businesses for having a dated website. Yes, even in this day and age. Some simply lack the desire or skills necessary to maintain it on their own, and short of a buddy deal (we all know how these can go), it can be a massive expense to take on to update without a maintenance agreement, or cover the costs of paying someone to maintain it for an affordable update. My wife works in marketing, and it can often be a big hurdle for small business.

17 pools a year is not bad. I'd just reach out and ask for some references and go from there. When its all said and done, you may very well be their first glowing review online, and grateful the lack of one didn't dissuade you from choosing them.

I'm a web developer so I definitely get it. Was actually considering proposing a swap for some of the cost.

Check with your state and county building regulators to see if the builder has had any complaints investigated. It’s odd to me that you aren’t finding any reviews posted online anywhere.

Had I taken my own advice on this, I would not have used the builder I chose.

I just filed a BBB complaint a few weeks ago. Its a joke but the business really irked me so i wanted to cause them some similar kind of grief. They didnt respond to my direct emails so i lodged the BBB complaint. Thry responded right away to that. We had a back-and-forth about 6 responses each and they refused to help in anyway. Because the business responded the complaint was washed from the BBB website. I would have been happy with no result if the discussion was still posted so other people could see both sides and make their decision. But there is both no resolution and no evidence of a complaint.
