It is about trust. I would guess that at most of the pools this guy goes to, the owners are not at home during the service. The owner of the company needs to know that he can trust his employee. Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is looking. Sorry, but I would report the kid. And how the company responds would dictate if I choose another company or not.

I'd talk to the owner and request a new tech. That tech would have lost all my respect and trust in that he attempted to lie to you. If he thinks it's ok to lie to you and to pee on your equipment, what else would he think is ok to do?

Tough call. I may be inclined to let it pass though I'd certainly be checking my video to see what the pattern is. But on/all over the equipment is not nice and if that happened more than once, he's toast.
Interestingly, peeing into a large pool and having the FC attack it is likely more sanitary than onto equipment where you will touch it. Every time we go to a public pool, we are swimming where people just peed.
And also from a hygiene perspective, I likely walk in and touch my two dog's pee with some regularity as I'm outside a lot in the yard.

There are numerous places to stop for a pee break. It’s inexcusable. I’m out all day and I’ve never once relieved myself in a clients yard, regardless of how hot or how much water I’ve drank.
If its your company you can do what you like and stop whenever you like. If you are an awesome boss, you allow your guys to also do so. There are more jerk owners and bosses than there are good ones. The pool boy knows he has an entry level job and he is disposable. Either for getting caught stopping too much or if he upsets the customer even more by admitting to peeing in the yard. Even faced with the actual video he would probanly deny it, both to the boss and customer, not knowing if either would appreciate his honesty and give him a free pass.
I dont condone what he did. I have 25 years in peoples yards and never have done it myself. But it is a common occurance for alot of outside workers. Just the other day i was working with another guy from a different company. We were walking along under the utility lines tracing them running through the backyards of the neighborhood. 4 houses over from our customer he declared that he had to pee and stepped behind that homeowners shed to do it. Not even our customer but a house down the way. Imagine explaining that one if he got caught ??? Well, um, yeah maam, we arent here for you, but i peed behind your shed. I was equally stunned and impressed at the *round circular objects* on the guy.
