Ok to add baking soda, calcium hardness & stabilizer together?

Based on that test data, I would not add anything. All levels are fine. Your CH is just under the recommended levels, but leaving your pH at 7.6 or higher will make that moot.

Go swimming.

Excluding the CH, you are in normal range. You can add calcium if you like. I suspect you get some rain that can occasionally overflow your pool.

Noticed FC was low this morning. Added 43 oz. of liquid chlorine using calculation from the PoolMath app. I also bumped up my SWCG % thinking it wasn’t set high enough.

In addition to that I added dry stabilizer, baking soda and calcium chloride to get the other levels in check. All of the other levels look good as you can see in the logs above now, but FC has dropped, even after adding liquid chlorine and bumping up my SWCG %.

How should I proceed? I’m leaving at 4am tomorrow morning for a business trip so hoping there’s something I can do now to keep things OK before I return on Tuesday.

Correct TC = FC + CC. But TC is meaningless.

Your FC will always drop during the day. Your SWCG should be set to replace that loss. What FC is your SWCG set to generate each day?

I’m confused, because the laminated instructions that came with my TF-100 specifically say TC is the total of FC and CC?!

When I looked at your PM log you had CC at 7.0. You don't log TC in PM. We don’t care about TC.

My FC was high a week ago (11) and then 6.5 4 days ago so I figured I should reduce my SWCG from 17 to 12% to get it closer to 4-5. This morning I noticed it was low (1.5) so I increased it again back to 17% and also added liquid chlorine but even with that it’s still lower now at the end of the day.

shawn, you are correct tc is total, but 4 days ago your pool log shows cc as 7.0 instead of i assume 0.5
be careful adding baking soda and calcium at the same time, adding large quantities at the same time can cause cloudiness

Thanks for the tip! It was very mildly cloudy for about 10 mins and then cleared right up. Looks crystal clear now. In the future I’ll add them apart from each other.

If you are going to be gone, set the SWCG so it creates 4 ppm FC per day while you are away. Then check the FC level when you return.
