New SWG Fiberglass pool numbers!

Howdy everyone! My new 12,000 gallon fiberglass pool is up and running, we poured the salt in and the pump has been running for about 6 hours now. I tested my water (twice just to be sure) and these are my numbers with the TF-100 kit:

FC - 5
pH- 7.8 (this is quite difficult to read, I used two different test kits and then did the acid demand test to correlate)
TA - 500 (yes it's 500ppm I double checked)
CH - 75
CYA - 0
Salt - 2930
Temp- 90F
CSI - .36

The pool is cloudy and a slight green color but it still has a lot of sand/silt from the construction process. They told me to run the pump 24/7 and clean the filter 1-2x a day for the first week.

What is my priority here? Should I add anything today (6:20pm here) or wait until tomorrow morning and re-test then add stuff? Can I add different things at the same time like say muratic acid and cya?

Next time you do your TA test --
  • Sometimes a static electric charge can build up on the R-0009 dropper bottle tip, causing the drops to be smaller than usual and making the test read higher than actual. You can prevent this by wiping the tip of the dropper bottle with a damp cloth or tissue before you start and after each drop.
  • Hold the dropper bottles vertically and squeeze gently, so that drops come out slowly and seem to hang on the tip of the dropper bottle for a moment before falling.
You can add muriatic acid while CYA is dissolving.

Get 40 ppm worth of CYA in the water tomorrow. Use liquid chlorine to maintain the FC until SWCG is dialed in.

Fill out your signature when you can.

TA: 240

a much more reasonable number. I'll add the CYA in the morning after I clean it! I'll update my sig thanks!

So I'm 5ish days in now and the pool has gotten clearer every day , I could see all the way to the bottom yesterday but today it's even a bit clearer. Still have some sand/silt settling around the edge but that's good, the clarifier I added the first 3 days along with running the filter a lot has done the trick. Also the robot has done a great job as well. They told me to run the filter pump a lot for the first week and wash the filter out every day (which I have been). But today I set the filter to run for 6 hours from 10am to 4pm, about what I expect it will normally run. I had the swg set to 50% (super chlorinate the first day) but dropped it to 10% after 3 days of rising FC (it hit 7 yesterday). This morning it was down to FC 4ppm and I bumped the SWG up to 40%. I guess it's going to be a little trial and error to get it dialed in. I didn't need to add any bleach since the FC levels have been on the high side.

I am aerating and adding liquid muriatic acid every day to bring the TA down, it started at 250 and is at about 200 as of this morning. pH was about 7.6 this morning so I added more muriatic acid. How long between adding liquid muriatic acid to when I can re-measure TA for updated levels?
I added a gallon of the liquid CYA on Tuesday and it's been holding strong at ~40ppm. Should I bring it up to 80ppm quickly using more of the liquid CYA or wait?

You should be able to test in 30'ish minutes with the pump running to circulate. An hour at most.

If your calculations were good for the 40, then you should be able to calculate 70 and go for it. But, it wouldn't be the worst idea to calculate for 60 and then check, just to be safe.
