Removal of seal on multi port valve

What’s the best way to remove the seal from the multi port valve? I’ve been at it about an hour and a half using a box cutter, tiny flat head screwdriver, and kitchen knife.

Also, do I even want to glue the new one on and have to go through this hassle again, or just set it in?
 
I remember the service person who replaced my cracked multiport valve (home warranty covered it / dispatched them)
told me the newer ones are glued in and not meant to be replaced. He said you replace the whole mutiport top.

Not a fan of that kind of waste.

Yes, I’ve already got it out. And yes, it took a steady hand with a razor blade, massive patience, and a couple of cold beverages! Butgot it replaced and now the booger is leaking out the top where the handle is. ? The pool was sitting for at least 7 years. I have no pool experience but also don’t have the money to pay someone to fix it, so between me, this site, and utube I’ve done a decent job of getting it going. But every time I turn around, something else needs tlc.
 
So I just replaced the spider gasket on my pacfab multiport valve and now it’s leaking on the top where the handle connects.

Without taking it apart, can you tell me if there are more gaskets/seals that could need replacing or other parts that may not be working correctly?
