Sadly, I have come to a leak. I cannot find it. I have lost approximately 5000 gallons of water over the last 72 hours (I have replaced about 4 inches of water each morning). Last night alone - my water level dropped 1 inch in 6 hours overnight. Yes, I did the bucket test last night which was negative.
My pump runs during the day 10-6. My equipment pad is dry, there are no leaks in the above ground plumbing, I have used blue food coloring a placed 5-6 drops in front of both returns, skimmer, pool light and suction side opening - all negative. My deep end is 9 feet, shallow end 4 feet. Any thoughts on where to go next?

TYIA for all of your support.

You read ...

Otherwise you need to call a professional leak detection that has the right tools. Likely a small liner tear that is hard to see.

I did read it. I am sad and frustrated. I have a call into an incredibly trustworthy pool company (I know, oxymoron - but they are). I usually like to detect, solve, handle things on my own - but I think this one MAY be above my pay grade :/. I was hoping there could be something more that someone could add here. Jim - I agree. I am going to stop adding water after today and just let it drop. Should I drain my filter and pump and shut off all valves or is that a moot point?

Happened to me shortly after pool originally installed. turned out to be a small tear caused by a rock pushed by a pool cleaner. Tear was near a corner seam at bottom of deep end. I used a professional to detect and fix. That is what i recommend.

I think I have resigned myself to them handling this one.

My pool was built and installed by the previous homeowner (he worked in construction but not pool construction). I turned off the skimmer valve and hoped that the water would pull from the main drain so that I could still circulate water and stop adding water but it was clear there was no water being pulled from the main drain. My pressure gauge did not even registered and my pump was VERY unhappy with that maneuver.

Pool company it is.

Thanks all - I will update when the resolution happens.
